Burford House Hotel

Burford House Hotel Oxford

A 17th Century landmark on the high street, it has become, if you believe what you read and hear, one of the most highly regarded small hotels in the lovely Cotswolds, one of Britain’s most outstanding beautiful areas.

There are just eight bedrooms, all decorated individually with carefully chosen traditional Farrow & Ball paints. Some have queen or king size beds, some overlook the garden and some the evocative high street but all have

  • antique furniture, pictures and porcelain
  • great beds with Witney blankets, the best pillows and fine egyptian linen
  • gleaming bathrooms with huge tubs and all but one with separate shower stall
  • toiletries, bathrobes, mineral water and hospitality trays
  • up to date magazines and readable books
  • and lots of thoughtful extras not often found in hotels
  • flat screen television with DVD/CD player and satellite channels
  • wireless broadband internet access in all rooms

We love all the rooms and each of us has a favourite, so even if your first choice is not available…… trust us, the alternative will still be a hit.

Luxury and comfort is of course not confined to the bedrooms, downstairs guests will find two intimate sitting rooms.

There is a Log Stove in one, whilst the Garden Room is bright and has doors out to the courtyard garden.

The lounges simply add to the space available for relaxation, reading, reflecting, falling asleep or having an early evening glass of wine or a late evening nightcap.
